How to Print A3 Size PDF Using Adobe Acrobat Pro

This tutorial shows how to print any file to an A3 Size PDF or any other size and print any size file to an A3 Size Physical Printer with any standard document PDF, we include some printing tips on how this operation works and include a simple and easy-to-follow guide and video. 
See the instructions below for a simple step-by-step process that anyone can follow, in this guide we use Adobe Acrobat Pro to print the file to A3 Size easily.

The images below are from Adobe Acrobat Pro on Windows 10. These steps also apply to Adobe Acrobat Pro 2020, Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017, and updated versions of Acrobat Acrobat Pro on a PC and Macintosh.

How to Print Any File to A3 Size PDF or Printer

To start with this tutorial presumes you have your standard PDF ready to open on your PC or Mac computer in a folder you have access to and you have Adobe Acrobat Pro installed.

Step-By-Step Guide

  1. Connect your computer to the printer and ensure the printer is turned on.
  2. Open the Folder where your PDF file is located.
  3. Open Adobe Acrobat Pro
  4. Either double-click on the source PDF in File Explorer or Drag and Drop the PDF straight into Adobe Acrobat Pro (hold left mouse down on the pdf file selected and move mouse into Acrobat main window and release), this will open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat Pro
  5. Select the Print button in the toolbar (see figure 1). (If the Print button is not in your toolbar, select File > Print.)Print both sides of the paper on a non duplex printer, any printer

  6. To print to pdf from within Adobe Acrobat Pro, Ensure the Adobe PDF printer is selected in the Printer choice, if you don’t see this then go into windows control panel, add printers and add the Adobe PDF printer. NOTE: you can also do this with Adobe Reader and another PDF Printer e.g. Print To PDF Pro available here (see figure 2).

  7. Select Size and click Fit radio button (see figure 3)Print as A3 to create a A3 Sized PDF

  8. Select Page Setup… (see figure 4)

  9. In Page Setup select A3 and then click OK button (see figure 5)

  10. Click Print.
    Enter a Save PDF File As  filename when prompted. (see figure 5)
    Save to A3 Size PDF for printing later or for sending to a colleague.

NOTE: If you don’t have Adobe Acrobat Pro PDF Printer and are using Adobe Acrobat Reader then there are many free ones available online e.g. Print to PDF Pro

You can also choose an A3 Printer to print to instead of saving to pdf if you wanted to.
